Each of the Colonel's men writes down, on a piece of paper, a destination previously visited on a Colonel's break. The destinations are then placed into a hat and eliminated one by one (in reverse order of revealing of destinations on the mentalist list). The destination left in the hat is then added at the bottom of the mentalist list as Piparus' choice.

Prior to going on the mission, the Shanaman is loaded with a multitude of destinations. On the first night of the break, someone is selected to draw a destination from the Shanaman and reveal it to all present. The Shanaman is then passed to the next person who can decide whether to stick with the current destination or draw again. If they decide to stick, the Shanaman is passed on to the next person; if they draw again, the previous destination is discarded and the new one is revealed. Once two rounds have been completed the last destination to have been revealed is added to PC Bourne's mentalist round.

The winner of the game becomes Pete Gibbon's delegate and takes possession of Pete Gibbon's envelope, if available; the player with the highest-scoring single round becomes Gozer's delegate.

If there is still general disgruntlement about the chosen destination, the Miracle of Marco Taylor may occur. This is done by the symbolic act of combining the body of Marco Taylor (initially a pebble) with the blood of Marco Taylor (initially some port.) In this event, the Colonel's men are transformed into adults and have a reasonable discussion about where they would like the next destination to be.
The result of this discussion will be the real destination.
Marco Taylor is immune to "Hell on Earth" because during the time of Hel 2006's fury, there is only a pebble and some port.
